The Norwegian Mission Society presents: A joint prayer for peace – Peace Concert with SKRUK, Lova and the Royal Norwegian Navy Band SKRUK, led by conductor Per Oddvar Hildre, has throughout its more than 50-year history created friendships and musical collaborations across borders and cultures. When they travelled to Madagascar during Easter 2024, it was both to meet the military choir Lova – with whom they have collaborated several times before – and to further strengthen friendships on the island. The result of this work was the album A Joint Prayer for Peace, released in 2025. Now, the military choir Lova is returning to Norway, and they will meet both SKRUK and one of Norway’s professional military ensembles: the Royal Norwegian Navy Band. The band masters a wide range of genres – wind band repertoire, classical music, jazz, pop, and not least contemporary music. They have distinguished themselves especially within classical contemporary music, with several critically acclaimed releases, concerts, and festival appearances. The Royal Norwegian Navy Band is conducted by Peter Szilvay. In these turbulent times, what speaks more powerfully than a “peace choir” and two military ensembles with widely different musical expressions coming together – and bringing us together – in a shared prayer for peace. The artistic director of the concert is Anders Rønningen (composer, former missionary to Madagascar and also a member of SKRUK), who has composed and arranged much of the music, including the final piece – a brand new hymn titled Let Peace Be Free!, with lyrics by Erik Hillestad - RéserverBergen19.06.2026
Bergen Calling: Dumdum Boys, Raga Rockers og Slomosa
Dumdum Boys, Raga Rockers and Slomosa at Bergenhus Festning! Bergen Calling continues to strengthen its position as one of the country’s leading concert series, presented by Bergen Live, when three of Norway’s most prominent rock bands – Dumdum Boys, Raga Rockers and Slomosa – take the stage at Bergenhus Festning on Friday 19 June 2026. Dumdum Boys Their combination of raw energy, timeless songs and the ability to connect with new generations still makes them one of Norway’s foremost live bands. When Dumdum Boys earlier this year announced concerts in the country’s largest cities and on several of Norway’s most central stages, the shows were almost immediately sold out. The band’s presence on stage is often described as a moment when the music hits the body – hard, precise and unavoidable. In the summer of 2026, audiences in Bergen will get to experience this when the band takes over Plenen. Raga Rockers make a long-awaited return One of Norway’s most iconic rock bands of all time, Raga Rockers, are also ready for Bergen Calling in the summer of 2026. The band enters a new phase with Ivar Eidem behind the microphone, while Michael Krohn once again takes up the guitar. With their raw energy, distinctive lyrics and songs that have shaped Norwegian rock, Raga Rockers set the stage for a summer filled with both new highlights and familiar classics. Slomosa with international momentum Slomosa played at Bergenfest in 2024 and are now ready to take the stage at Bergen Calling on 19 June. The band has received significant attention both nationally and internationally, and completed as many as 100 concerts across Europe and the USA in 2025. With the Spellemann Award-winning second album Tundra Rock behind them, they return to Norwegian stages in 2026 – this time with even greater force. Slomosa’s uncompromising energy and distinctive tundra rock have earned them a rapidly growing fan base, and audiences can look forward to one of the summer’s most explosive live moments at Bergenhus Festning. - RéserverBergen20.06.2026
