Suivez le sentier de randonnée national Fosseråsa et passez derrière la cascade Storsæter.

Le patrimoine naturel exceptionnel de cette région s’est construit au fil de périodes glaciaires successives, durant lesquelles les glaciers ont creusé de profonds fjords et façonné de hautes montagnes. Avec de tels atouts naturels, il n’est pas surprenant que le Geirangerfjord figure souvent dans les classements des lieux les plus spectaculaires du monde.
D’impressionnantes cascades grondent sur les versants encaissés. Les célèbres De syv søstrene (« Les Sept soeurs »), Friaren (« Le Soupirant ») et Brudesløret (« Le Voile de la mariée ») déferlent dans le fjord dans un nuage d’embruns, capturant dans leurs gouttelettes les couleurs de l’arc-en-ciel. Quant aux possibilités de randonnées et d’activités de pleine nature, elles sont multiples.
La région possède de nombreuses petites entreprises artisanales dans le secteur alimentaire, notamment la brasserie Geiranger Brygerri, en partie installée sur un bateau, et Hellesylt Boutique & Bar, qui propose à son menu des créations originales comme ces meringues à la réglisse.

Il y a plusieurs trains quotidiens d’Oslo à Åndalsnes (environ 5h30) et de Trondheim à Åndalsnes (environ 4h30), qui est la gare la plus proche.
Depuis Åndalsnes, des autocars desservent Ålesund et Sjøholt toute l’année. En été, ils poursuivent jusqu'à Valldal et Geiranger par la route de montagne du Trollstigen.
En été, vous pouvez embarquer à bord de Hurtigruten (l'Express côtier norvégien) sur son voyage vers le Nord de Bergen, et descendre à Geiranger. En hiver, Hurtigruten n'entre pas le Geirangerfjord, mais fait quand même escale à Ålesund. Vous pouvez ensuite continuer en bus d'Ålesund jusqu'à Geiranger.
Il y a des départs quotidiens de bus express de la région d'Oslo, Trondheim ou Bergen, vers Geiranger ou Ålesund.
