Généreusement pourvue de chemins balisés et sites touristiques populaires, ainsi que de contrées sauvages et préservées, la Norvège s’est forgé une réputation méritée de grande destination européenne pour la randonnée. Pour vous donner un petit avant-goût de ce qui vous attend, nous avons réuni ici quelques-uns des grands classiques (et défis !) de la randonnée norvégienne.

Les randonnées les plus emblématiques attirent des marcheurs du monde entier et, de mi-juin à fin juillet, peuvent parfois être très fréquentées le week-end. Toutefois, si vous partez sur les sentiers en semaine, vous croiserez probablement moins de randonneurs et serez plus tranquille.

Vous pouvez également faire votre voyage lorsque les paysages se parent de rouge, d’or et d’orange à la fin de l’été et à l’automne. À cette époque de l’année, on peut profiter des beautés de la nature pratiquement sans être dérangé.

Notre pays est une terre de contrastes, aux distances considérables. Aussi, lorsque vous préparez votre itinéraire de randonnée, nous vous recommandons de vous concentrer sur une seule région ou contrée. Quel que soit le lieu ou presque, vous aurez le choix entre une myriade de sentiers.

De nombreux chalets, sur tout le territoire, proposent aux randonneurs un hébergement pratique, à portée de bourse. Beaucoup sont relativement rudimentaires, mais ne soyez pas surpris si, chemin faisant, vous tombez sur un gîte d'étape ou un refuge sortant de l’ordinaire – quelques architectes inspirés sont passés par là. En revanche, si vous avez une petite envie de luxe, vous n’aurez que l’embarras du choix en matière d’hôtels chics.

Faire de la randonnée avec l’Association norvégienne de randonnée pédestre

L’Association norvégienne de randonnée pédestre (DNT) gère plus de 550 chalets dans toute la Norvège, ce qui vous donne un ample choix d’hébergements convenables et à portée de bourse pour votre trekking.

Il existe trois types d’hébergement : les gîtes d'étape et refuges gardés, les chalets non gardés avec provisions de vivres et les chalets non gardés sans provisions de vivres. Partez en trek sur la côte, en forêt et en montagne et passez la nuit dans les chalets de la DNT.

La Norvège est une formidable terre d'aventure, qui concentre des paysages naturels mythiques – montagnes, vallées et fjords. Mais avant de vous lancer dans l’aventure, lisez les neuf règles du code norvégien de la montagne, des règles simples qui vous aideront à assurer votre sécurité.

La sécurité en montagne

1. Planifiez votre excursion et confiez votre itinéraire à quelqu'un.

2. Adaptez le chemin choisi à votre expérience et votre forme.

3. Tenez compte des conditions météo et des risques d'avalanche.

4. Préparez-vous au mauvais temps et au gel, même sur de courtes distances.

5. Emportez l'équipement requis pour votre sécurité et celle des autres.

6. Choisissez des sentiers sûrs. Attention aux avalanches et à la glace.

7. Utilisez une carte topographique et une boussole.

8. N’ayez pas honte à faire demi-tour quand il est encore temps.

9. Gardez vos forces et cherchez un abri quand vous en avez besoin.
