Il s'agit toujours de l'un des principaux produits d'exportation de la région.

Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. There are also Sherpa stairs, called Djeveltrappa («The Devil’s Stairs») - an attraction in itself.

Un bon moyen d'éviter les foules estivales est de visiter les Lofoten au printemps ou à l'automne. Ou essayez en hiver, où l'on peut observer des couleurs magiques et des aurores boréales.

À la fin du mois d'août, et surtout à partir de septembre, les nuits s'assombrissent enfin et les aurores boréales reviennent !

La fragilité de la nature

La nature arctique est extrêmement vulnérable. Restez toujours sur les sentiers balisés, n'en créez pas de nouveaux. Utilisez les toilettes publiques dans la mesure du possible et ramassez vos déchets.

En Norvège, il existe une interdiction générale des feux en plein air, connue sous le nom de bålforbud, qui est valable du 15 avril au 15 septembre. Elle interdit d'allumer des feux de joie, des feux de camp, d'utiliser des grilles jetables et d'autres flammes nues - dans ou près des forêts et des zones non cultivées - afin de prévenir les incendies de forêt.

Respecter les habitants locaux

Les Lofoten sont magnifiques, mais n'oubliez pas qu'elles abritent également de nombreuses personnes. Ne prenez pas de photos des gens sans leur demander la permission et achetez des produits et services locaux pour soutenir la communauté locale. Certaines routes sont étroites et comportent des aires de stationnement pour permettre aux voitures de passer. Conduisez avec prudence et ne les utilisez pas pour vous garer.

Pour faire voler un drone en Norvège, vous devez l'enregistrer et respecter des règles très strictes.

Comment s'y rendre et s'y déplacer

Planifiez votre voyage au Lofoten avec le planificateur de voyage officiel de la Norvège, Entur.

Par avion
Il y a des vols fréquents et réguliers de toutes les grandes villes de Norvège vers l'aéroport de Bodø, l’aéroport de Harstad/Narvik, l’aéroport de Svolvær, l'aéroport de Leknes et l'aéroport de Røst.
Le temps de vol entre Oslo et Bodø est de 1h30 et il faut compter 20 à 30 minutes de vol supplémentaires ou entre 3h et 4h de bateau pour se rendre aux Lofoten. Depuis Harstad/Evenes, il faut entre 2h30 et 4h de route (voiture ou bus) pour rejoindre les Lofoten.
Il y a aussi un service d'hélicoptère entre Bodø et Værøy.

Si vous choisissez d'aller en voiture, il y a plusieurs options pour se rendre aux Lofoten.
Une liaison sans bateau depuis le nord des Lofoten, ou depuis la Suède, fait la navette entre le continent et les Lofoten.

En autocar
Il y a des autobus publics tous les jours de Narvik, Bodø et Harstad jusqu'à Svolvær. L'Airport Express Bus circule également régulièrement entre Harstad/Narvik, Evenes Airport et Lofoten-Svolvær.

En train
Des trains circulent quotidiennement entre Narvik et Kiruna, Stockholm tout au long de l’année. De Narvik, vous pouvez prendre des bus pour les îles Lofoten.
Vous pouvez également prendre le train d'Oslo à Trondheim, et de Trondheim continuer jusqu'à Bodø avec le Nordland Railway. Le trajet dure environ 10 heures. De Bodø, vous pouvez prendre un ferry ou un bateau express pour les Lofoten.

En bateau
Des bateaux express de passagers font la traversée tous les jours de l'année entre Bodø, Svolvær et Værøy.
Il y a des ferries à voiture de Bodø à plusieurs endroits dans les îles Lofoten, et même entre certaines des îles.
Sur sa route nord et sud, Hurtigruten, l’Express côtier norvégien, fait escale tous les jours à Stamsund et Svolvær dans les Lofoten. Les Havila Voyages traversent les Lofoten vers le nord et le sud, avec des étapes pour visiter Stamsund et Svolvær.

Déplacements locaux
L’E10 (Route du roi Olav V) est l'artère principale qui traverse l'archipel d’Ouest en Est. Si vous empruntez les transports publics et comptez vous éloigner de l’E10, vérifiez soigneusement les horaires.
