Baignade, plages de sable et activités nautiques
Le bord de mer étant en grande partie gratuit et ouvert au public, vous pourrez passer à la plage d'agréables journées, entrecoupées de parenthèses sportives (randonnée, vélo, pêche) et d’expériences typiquement norvégiennes : soleil de minuit, culture urbaine, fjords, nature préservée – et peut-être même la chance de voir des baleines.

Plus de 1 800 kilomètres de côte séparent les plages sablonneuses de Lista, tout au sud de la Norvège, des dunes situées à proximité de Vadsø, dans l’extrême nord du pays.

Le deuxième plus long littoral du monde possède de nombreuses plages, d’une diversité comparable à celle du reste de la Norvège. Si la côte maritime ne vous a pas rassasié, vous pourrez toujours vous rendre sur les rives d’un des innombrables lacs éparpillés à travers le territoire, dont ils occupent près de 3 %.

Si certaines plages norvégiennes font l’unanimité autant parmi les familles norvégiennes que parmi les surfeurs venus de l’étranger, de nombreuses autres ne manqueront pas de vous surprendre au moment où vous vous y attendrez le moins. Vous aurez alors l’impression de découvrir un petit coin de paradis qui n’appartient qu'à vous...

Climat clément

Les températures de l’air et de l’eau sont souvent d’une douceur surprenante en été, en raison du Gulf Stream qui réchauffe l’ensemble du littoral, même dans le nord. Évidemment, cela dépend des températures auxquelles vous êtes habitué. Certaines portions exposées du littoral, en Norvège du Nord et des Fjords, intimideront les plus frileux. Cependant, en Norvège du Sud, la température de l’eau peut atteindre 23 ° au plus fort de l’été.

Une température qui permet la pratique de multiples activités nautiques et de plage. Rien de tel qu’une petite séance de surf ou de stand-up paddle pour s’ouvrir l’appétit avant un pique-nique sur la plage ou sur les rochers.

Baignade urbaine – ou nature

Si vous envisagez un séjour en ville sans vouloir renoncer aux plaisirs de la plage, c’est possible ! De nombreuses villes ont amélioré ou aménagé leurs zones de baignade pour une meilleure qualité de vie.

En outre, sur de nombreuses plages du nord, vous pourrez observer toutes sortes d’animaux sauvages, parmi lesquels, avec de la chance, des baleines ou des pygargues à queue blanche. Avec 239 057 îles, le littoral norvégien, dont la longueur est égale à deux fois et demie la circonférence du globe terrestre, n’a pas fini de vous surprendre !

Des plages de caractère

Comparées aux plages surpeuplées que l’on rencontre parfois ailleurs, les plages norvégiennes ont l’avantage d’être moins fréquentées, d’avoir des eaux de baignade propres et des environs relativement calmes, et ce, même en zone urbaine comme à Oslo, Bergen et Trondheim.

Bronzer, mais pas que

Une journée à la plage peut aisément s’enrichir d'activités sportives – marche, vélo, pêche et ski. Oui, vous avez bien lu : du ski. En Norvège des Fjords, vous pouvez très bien dévaler les pentes d’une montagne et piquer une tête dans un fjord au cours d'une seule et même journée.

Le soleil ne se couche jamais

Le soleil de minuit attire de nombreux visiteurs en Norvège du Nord. De mai à août, vous pourrez savourer un bain de minuit en amoureux, une balade en kayak, une sortie à ski nautique ou tout simplement boire un verre sur la plage en contemplant le soleil sur le fil de l’horizon jusqu'au petit matin.

Les plages Pavillon Bleu

La première plage norvégienne à s’être vu décerner le label de référence est celle de Bystranden, à Kristiansand. En 2018, on recensait 17 plages Pavillon Bleu en Norvège, avec de nombreuses autres en voie de labellisation.

Le label Pavillon Bleu est décerné aux plages ayant des eaux de baignade d’excellente qualité, des zones de plage propres, des mesures de sécurité, des surveillants de baignade, un accès pour les personnes à mobilité réduite, des mesures de nettoyage et de recyclage, des sanitaires et des salles de repos propres, ainsi qu’un approvisionnement en eau potable.

Plusieurs campagnes gouvernementales ou indépendantes ont sensibilisé le grand public au nettoyage des plages et de la mer.

Camper sur le sable

Tôt ou tard, le grand air et le bruit monotone du ressac vous plongeront dans une douce torpeur. Pour ceux qui souhaitent passer la nuit au bord de la mer, le littoral norvégien abrite un certain nombre de campings familiaux, hôtels et autres lieux d'hébergement.

Petit rappel : en dépit du droit d'accès à la nature (allemansretten), vous n’êtes pas autorisé à planter votre tente à moins de 150 m du lieu d'habitation le plus proche.
