Les visiteurs sont de plus en plus nombreux à s'éprendre de cette région constellée d'étangs (plus de 900), où l’on peut admirer les animaux dans leur élément naturel et faire le plein de musique folk.
Qu’est-ce qu’on entend ? Les cinq membres de la famille se réveillent à 2,50 mètres au-dessus du sol, dans une cabane en bois nichée dans les frondaisons de deux énormes arbres. L'un des bambins est plongé dans la contemplation d’une femelle élan et de son petit, qui mangent tranquillement tout en bas. Avec la mangeoire installée au pied des arbres, les visiteurs sont aux premières loges pour observer la faune du Femund Engerdal. Et cette cabane n’est pas le seul hébergement du coin à avoir du charme…
La région, nichée entre la frontière suédoise et les villes de Trysil et Røros, abrite 67 sommets et deux parcs nationaux, Femundsmarka et Gutulia. La randonnée, le canoë et le vélo y sont tout particulièrement accessibles aux familles. Plusieurs solutions s’offrent à vous pour vous rendre dans le Femund Engerdal.
La pêche à la mouche en rivière y est populaire. Par ailleurs, plus de 900 étangs constellent la région et le troisième plus grand lac norvégien, le Femunden, s’y trouve. Un ferry, le M/S Fæmund II, sillonne les eaux de ce dernier depuis 1904. Sous la surface du lac vit une faune aquatique d’une grande richesse : truite, omble, ombre commun, cisco, perche et brochet.
La région de Femund Engerdal a obtenu le certificat environnemental de destination de tourisme durable, un label qui vous déscerné aux aux destinations qui mettent en place des solutions afin de réduire l'impact négatif du tourisme sur leur environnement.
Dans la partie la plus septentrionale du Femund Engerdal, les Samis pratiquent l’élevage des rennes, dont les troupeaux sont aisément repérables. Vous n’aurez en outre aucun mal à dénicher les producteurs locaux et savourer leurs produits, comme par exemple Anne på Landet. Chaque année, le festival de Femund permet aux visiteurs de se mêler aux habitants du cru jusque sur la piste de danse.
L’hiver n’est pas non plus exempt d'activités, puisque l’on peut y pratiquer la très originale pêche sous la glace ou, dans un esprit plus familial, le ski de fond. Avec une telle abondance d'activités, vous n’aurez aucun mal à vous endormir, le soir venu – peut-être bercé par le bruit des mandibules des résidents de la forêt, qui se restaurent sous votre chambre.

We would like to welcome you to Røste Hyttetun & Camping This camping site is situated in Os municipality, the most northerly municipality in the county of Hedmark. It is only 12 km to Røros, a town that appears on UNESCO's World Heritage List because of its timber-built town centre. The camping site is small and ideal for families. There are 10 cabins, from basic standard to high standard in well-equipped cabins. There are also room foe about 20 caravans. On the site there are common advantage a living room with television, a kitchen, a washing machine and a tumble drier. The sanitary conditions are of high standard. There is also a playground. Different activities, summer and winter, are within short distances. It will take you 10 minutes by car to Røros. The river Glomma runs only 150 meters from the site for those who are fond of fishing. A winter activities complex with skilifts is abot 4 km away. The camping site is in the middle of an excellent area for walking. It is 5 km to Nørdalen Nature and culture trails which was chosen to be the best outdoor area in 1995. Not far from here you can also go riding or take a trip in a dog sled in the winter.
