    TULUS + Visegard || Hulen

    TULUS + Visegard || Hulen CC: 350/280 ID: 18 ---------- Tulus TULUS was founded in 1991 in Nittedal, Norway, and is the firstblack metalband Blodstrupand Sarke from Khold played in. The debut album was recorded in 1996. TULUS will forever be an underground cult act, and they have always kept true to their own style of primitive yet groovy, cold, filthy black metal. With the exception of "Biography Obscene" they have kept the lyrics in Norwegian. In 2019, the band's first three studio albums, "Pure Black Energy", "Mysterion" and "Evil 1999" were re-released on CD and for the first time ever on vinyl. In March 2020, their first new studio album since 8 years, "Old Old Death", was released, and the band played an exclusive festival appearance in Finland just before the world shut down. In 2022, the band played some select festivals, like Inferno and Karmøygeddon in Norway, and Netherlands Deathfest. December 30, the band premiered a documentary on the band's history and the making of the new album. In 2023, the band's seventh studio album, "Fandens Kall", was released by Soulseller Records. The band played some shows, including a festival appearance in Mexico. In 2026, the band has released their studio album number eight, "Morbid Desires", through Darkness Shall Rise Productions. The band will play at Party, San Open Air and further shows are planned. Blodstrup: Vocals/guitars Crowbel: Bass Sarke:Drums Visegard Visegard has roots in the classic 90s wave of dark and ice-cold black metal. The Telemark band blends folk belief, pagan tones and a brutality that earns them the right to reign on "En trone av gran"! For those in doubt – check out the song "Hvor Gausta rår"! In 2014 Visegard released their debut album "Burning the Path of Happiness" on digital platforms. It would take over 10 years before this album saw the light of day in physical format. Rising from the ashes came a remastered edition of the album, for the first time in physical format (LP, CD and MC) earlier this year. In addition to this brand new release, Visegard brings along the split album "Kirkegard" (2021), the EP "Skogsdømt" (2022) and the 7" vinyl "Høststormens Tilbakekomst" (2024) in their luggage.

    10.09.2026 - 11.09.2026

    Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra: Cavalleria Rusticana

    In his final season as Principal Guest Conductor, Sir Mark Elder leads a performance of the most concise and emotive opera in the Italian verisimo tradition. Cavalleria Rusticana is a tale of obsession, jealousy and love turning lethal set to some of the most heartbreaking music composed for the opera stage. On Easter Morning in a Sicilian village, a local woman shunned by her community and abandoned by her lover faces a choice: expose her former love’s affair with a married woman risking a very public vengeance, or allow the sacred rituals to mask injustice and drown-out her cries? Having led English National Opera at its height in the 1990s, Sir Mark Elder continues to conduct the leading opera companies of the world including the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia where he has been Music Director since 2025. He has assembled a first-class cast led by Ekaterina Semenchuk’s Santuzza for this concert performance of Pietro Mascagni’s emotive one-act opera, a piece of music theatre that can set the blood racing like few others.

    BLOXHAM TAPES @ BERGEN KJØTT: DAVID THOMAS BROUGHTON (UK/JP) & ROB NOYES (US/JP)

    BLOXHAM TAPES @ BERGEN KJØTT: DAVID THOMAS BROUGHTON (UK/JP) - Celebrated Avant-folk troubadour known for his off-kilter and unpredictable live shows. ROB NOYES (US/JP) - American solo 12-string guitarist/composer in the tradition of Basho, Renbourn et al. Saturday 12. september Bergen Kjøtt Bar (1. etasje) Skutevikstorget 1, 5032 Bergen, Norway 20:00 Doors 20:30 Concerts start Tickets on the door: 200 kr / 150kr studenter (+ no-one turned away for lack of funds!) ................. Bloxham Tapes returns to Bergen Kjøtt with more experimental sounds for an unsound world! This time we are pleased to welcome two Tokyo-based musicians, David Thomas Broughton and Rob Noyes. DAVID THOMAS BROUGHTON Hailing from Otley, Yorkshire in the north of the UK, David Thomas Broughton has spent the last 20 years making music that intertwines beauty and discomfort, spanning solo projects and diverse collaborations and that seems designed to constantly keep us guessing as listeners. Broughton's live performances are known for their spontaneity and unpredictability, where Broughton continually reworks, dismantles and bends his music into new forms resulting in a show that blends intimacy, humour, improvisation and abstraction. His discography includes seminal one-take albums like his debut 'The Complete Guide to Insufficiency' and his collaboration with jazz-folk quartet 7 Hertz, 2010's 'Outbreeding' produced by Andy Ramsey (Stereolab), the feedback-laced 'UnAbleTo' cassette from 2013, and 2014's 'Sliding The Same Way' with vocal trio Juice. In 2016, he released the triple album opus 'Crippling Lack' where he collaborated remotely with various artists including Aidan Moffat, Beth Orton and Sam Amidon. Excitingly, a new album is on the horizon. This next release will be an improvised trio recording with acclaimed pianist Matthew Bourne and underground music's drum legend Neil Turpin. ROB NOYES Rob Noyes is an acclaimed composer and guitar player, originally from the Boston area, now residing in Tokyo, Japan. Starting in 2016, he established himself as a solo acoustic guitarist in the tradition of Robbie Basho, John Renbourn, Davey Graham, Michael Chapman, and Wizz Jones. Live Noyes is fierce, singular and genuinely breathtaking to watch. It is the kind of playing that lifts the spirits and reminds us of how exciting solo guitar can really be. In 2016, Rob released The Feudal Spirit on Boston's Poon Village label to wide acclaim featuring artwork by Raymond Pettibon. He followed that with the Arc Minutes LP on VDSQ. Rob has also released collaborations or split records with Joseph Allred, Alexander, Sam Moss, Ryan Lee Crosby, Greg Kelley, and Ayami Suzuki. ---<3--- ACCESS Bergen Kjøtt Bar (1. floor) has access from street level, welcomes service dogs and has toilet facilities available for all genders which are wheelchair accessible. Addison Johnson

    Addison Johnson (US) North Carolina /Nashville-Tennessee Look forward to an evening of honest country. We've had Addison spin a few times now on the player, and the songs just get better and better. Check it out wherever you listen to music. The album "Dangerous Men" and the single from last year "Maybe I'm lonely too" are recommended. Born and raised in the home of the "Moonshiners" - the Blueridge Mountains in North Carolina - Addison's Songs bring an honest and society reflecting style of Country Music with it. Different than other musicians' careers, Addison was not born within a musicians' family. Already at a young age, he decided by himself to make a living out of Country Music – moved to Nashville alone with only a couple of bucks in his pocket. After a very rough start and an unmatched work-ethic, he managed to get touring the USA from east to west coast every year since. The hard life of a young touring artist formed not only his down to earth character, but also his view of real life in today's society. His outstanding talent of songwriting is nowadays well respected within the industry and so is not only his own music growing, but also his international fanbase! The concert is a mix of sitting and standing, if you want to sit you should get there early. No seat reservations!

    BAJAZZ: NABOEN MIN

    Naboen Min welcomes young and old to a concert with a kick! Naboen Min is the band of children's book author and songwriter Vegard Markhus and producer/guitarist Bjørnar Sangolt. Many children have heard songs such as Male himlen blå, Gyli gyli gong gong and Rockesock. In autumn 2026 they are in the spotlight with a new record. The duo brings along the rest of the band, and promises a mix of old and new. Naboen min aims to get children singing, dancing, smiling and laughing. The music ranges from rock and pop to ballads, and you can also find inspiration from both reggae and country. In the lyrics you find both humour and seriousness. You get to hear about dancing body parts, jumping animals and people who need comfort. And if you want to learn some words in alien language, you have come to the right place. The band has previously released the records "Rockesock" and "Alt blir feil". The music is played frequently on Radio Super. For the record "Rockesock" the band received the Spellemannspris in the children's music category. Listen to the new record (released in late summer), as well as songs such as Male himlen blå, Gyli gyli gong gong and Rockesock, and join the party! This year we have Olav Mjelva from Røros as this year's Dreamteam artist; known as an award-winning performer on fiddle and Hardanger fiddle in bands such as SVER, The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc and the duo Rydvall/Mjelva, but also as a composer of game music, festival organizer, cultural ambassador for Norwegian folk music and teacher. He has collaborated with musicians and artists from several countries and has contributed to building bridges between traditional and modern art practices. The Dreamteam artist scheme gives a selected musician the opportunity to put together their own dream ensemble and develop a unique concert project for the festival. For this concert, Mjelva has invited Alf Hulbækmo on organ, harmonica and several other instruments, Christian Winther on guitars and Sigurd Hole on double bass. Herr Nilsson og Essential Ether

    Herr Nilsson and The Essential Ether join forces for an evening that gives you some of the best indie Bergen has to offer, from two quite different sides of the pop spectrum. Do you think Rain and She Said She Said were the coolest Beatles songs, that music history peaked in 1991, and that Bergen should be a county in northern England? We do not know if The Essential Ether thinks all of this, but it sounds a bit like that in their dreamy shoegaze mixed with good melodies, songs that got none other than Ride to hire them as support last year. The record Ten Indie Essentials was celebrated as one of the best Norwegian pop records by Deichman musikk in 2024. Herr Nilsson follows up Sun Sets In Skuteviken (2022) with their sixth album Good Morning Rock And Roll, a record stuffed with good pop melodies, vocal harmonies and chiming guitar, drawing inspiration from quirky and melodic guitar pop all the way from the early 60s to today. The band has since 2003 delivered melodic and life-affirming pop with energetic live shows, and the new record takes this to new heights. Make the trip to the concert and catch two of Bergen's best kept pop secrets.

    Klassisk søndag i Åsane: Villa-Lobos Complete Guitar-Music

    The Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos is regarded as Brazil's most important classical composer and can be compared to "Brazil's Grieg". He created a unique musical language where Brazilian rhythms and folk music met European art music. In this special concert Johnny Kristiansen and Tino Andersen share the stage to present a wide selection of Villa-Lobos' music for guitar. Both have a strong connection to Brazil through studies, work and extended stays in the country, and bring with them a closeness to the culture and music that has shaped the composer's expression. Audiences will experience everything from lyrical and contemplative moments to virtuosic and energetic works from one of guitar history's most significant composers. A rare opportunity to experience the music of Brazil's great guitar icon gathered in one concert! Multisal, Åsane kulturhus Sunday 13 September at 14:00

    Chris Kläfford to Lille Ole Bull – invites you to an intimate “Kitchen Session” in Bergen This concert is part of Bergen Live Sessions When Chris Kläfford heads out on his long‑awaited Norway tour in autumn 2026, Lille Ole Bull will be one of the stops where the audience gets to experience the artist at his most present and honest. On Tuesday 15 September at 20.00 he takes the stage in Bergen with The Kitchen Session Tour – a concept created to get as close to the listeners as possible. A concept born around the kitchen table The Kitchen Session Tour is inspired by the spontaneous musical moments that arise when people gather around a kitchen table. On the tour, Kläfford performs his own “Kitchen Session” versions of his songs, combined with selected favourites from his catalogue – all stripped down to the essence: the voice, the guitar, and the personal lyrics. One of the strongest voices in the Nordics Chris Kläfford has for many years distinguished himself as one of Scandinavia’s most distinctive vocalists. With his enormous vocal power, emotional interpretations, and ability to create intense intimacy on stage, he has captivated audiences across the world. Since his breakthrough on Idol he has built a solid career both in the Nordics and internationally. His exposure increased even further when he impressed millions of viewers on America’s Got Talent, and today he has more than 1.7 million followers on social media – a loyal and ever‑growing fan base. In recent years Kläfford has toured extensively: – an extensive Scandinavia tour in 2024 – two sold‑out European tours the same year – a steady stream of concerts that has solidified his position as a live artist in a class of his own A meeting of vulnerability, strength and storytelling At Ole Bull Scene the audience gets to experience Kläfford in a format where the voice truly shines. “The Kitchen Session” is about stripping the music down to its core – letting the songs breathe, inviting the audience into the room where they were born. This will be an evening for those who want to hear the music the way it often starts: honest, warm, direct, and with the emotional force Chris Kläfford is known for. 15 September – a date for the calendar With a concept that speaks to both heart and ear, everything is set for a unique concert experience when Chris Kläfford visits Bergen. Modal Trafikk

    Modal Trafikk creates music that there is far too little of. Living dance music that makes the body move and activates the brain's reward system. They make the heart beat harder and the mouth smile. It is well played, original and raw. They used to be known as the country's best afrobeat band. That is no longer an adequate description. On their next album you will hear African, Latin American and electronic-inspired music from Bergen. Where genres such as maracatu, house, trap, afropop and psychedelia are just as present as afrobeat. The band's debut album Fabrique came out in 2023. It received zero attention from the country's reviewers, but is already a modern classic in certain underground communities. They have also released two singles with only drums and vocals which have been frequently played by DJs and radio stations, such as Olle Abstract in Oslo (LYD) and Chris Dourida in Los Angeles (KCRW). Since the previous record Modal Trafikk has established itself as an out-of-this-world live band with a stellar lineup of musicians. They have already given several legendary concerts, one of which lasted almost 4 hours (and even after that the audience was screaming for more). This concert will last approximately 75 minutes and if all goes according to plan it takes place the same day as the band releases their second album: Sadide.

    Extra performance with Erlend Loe at Ladekaia

    # Erlend Loe now ends up both opening and closing our anniversary week at Ladekaia. The first literary evening with Erlend in April sold out early, and the opening of the anniversary week on Tuesday, September 8th is already sold out, BUT don't despair. Mr. Loe will return to end this week with another extra performance, and that on a Sunday afternoon! **Eat before reading?** Before Erlend Loe takes the stage, Ladekaia offers a tasty cheese and tapas platter that can be enjoyed from arrival and throughout the evening. A simple and atmospheric way to turn the afternoon into a full evening. The cheese & tapas platter includes: Salami, wild sausage, cured ham, parmesan, blue cheese, beer-crackers, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, beans, focaccia, flatbread, aioli, green olives and potato salad. **Did you know that this event is part of something bigger?** In 2026, Dora 3 and Ladekaia will be 10 years old, and we will be celebrating with a whole anniversary week by the fjord. This is one of the performances you don't want to miss. **About the performance with Erlend Loe:** This will be a real reading marathon that will last 2-3 hours, of course with well-deserved breaks along the way, where the audience can stretch their legs and buy something at the bar. Erlend Loe is known as a unique reader – with humor, warmth and perfect timing. If you have heard any of his books as audiobooks, you know what we are talking about. **About "Kukene/Kukane":** "One day Tander's penis falls off while he's in the shower. It's not ideal and a bad fit, to say the least." This is how Erlend Loe's novel "Kukene/Kukane" begins – a story about loss, attachment and freedom, about the body, shame and what it really means to be whole. The story is absurd, funny and thought-provoking. In typical Loe style, it balances lightness and depth, with an eye for the human that is both tender and burlesque. The book received a number of glowing reviews when it was published last fall, and it was also nominated for the Booksellers Award. **From the reviews:** _«When was the last time I laughed out loud at a novel? So, straight forward laughing?»_ NRK _"Loe is funny, very funny."_ Dagbladet _"The author's dry-witted style is perfect for absurd stories like this."_ Stavanger Aftenblad _"Only Loe can come up with something so wild and original, there's enough material here to cure a mild autumn depression."_ Adresseavisen _"Loe is, as always, a funny writer. He writes with an ease that is admirable."_ VG

    "Home is where the rhythm is" In 2021, Marianna Sangita A. Røe was awarded the JazZtipendiat and the work "Σπίτι/Hjem" was performed the first time at Moldejazz in 2022; a collaboration between Marianna and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. She has a Norwegian Greek background and grew up with strong impulses from Greek traditional music, which has clearly left a mark on her expression. Throughout her career, she has been open to meeting music from other cultures, and in the work "Σπίτι/Hjem" she wants to unite several of her musical inspirations. The ensemble in Trondheim Jazz Orchestra's for this project comes from different countries with different musical traditions and creates a fascinating musical melting pot. The work has continued to be performed on various stages and festivals at home and abroad, and now we bring it home to Trondheim again. This will be the year's closing concert at the Transform festival and we are really proud to be able to do it in collaboration with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.

    AYUMI TANAKA / THOMAS MORGAN / THOMAS STRØNEN

    Ayumi Tanaka, Thomas Morgan and Thomas Strønen are all equally known for their gentle touch as for their strong musical instinct and originality. The trio had great artistic success with their first concert at Nasjonal jazzscene in Oslo just over two years ago, and earlier this year the three musicians were in the studio to record their debut record with Manfred Eicher as producer. The result we will get to hear on the long-awaited ECM release expected ahead of this autumn's tour. Pianist Ayumi Tanaka moved from Japan to Oslo to study under Misha Alperin at Norges musikkhøgskole. Later she found success with her own trio and became part of the celebrated ECM stable. Tanaka and Thomas Strønen know each other well after many years together in his band Time Is a Blind Guide, and in trio format together with saxophonist Marthe Lea. Bassist Thomas Morgan has been one of our great favourites for many years. Perhaps best known for his long-standing and close collaboration with Bill Frisell, but he has also had a long series of other interesting projects, among others with Jon Christensen and Jakob Bro. The core of their collaboration is a sonic wholeness shaped by attentive listening and a shared, instinctive musical language. Three cultures in a common approach, modern acoustic jazz at its very finest.
