    Dans cette région, les hivers sont doux, et les ports souvent libres de glace, même au cœur de l’hiver. Toutefois, plus loin et plus haut dans les terres, la neige est abondante et offre beaucoup d’opportunités de détente, avec ou sans les skis.

    L’Ouest de la Norvège abrite certaines des plus belles réalisations architecturales du pays. L'ancien port hanséatique de Bryggen, à Bergen, est inscrit sur la liste du Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.     Notre dernière réussite est la célèbre église communautaire de Knarvik, située au nord de Bergen, un monument remarquable et spectaculaire, mais aussi une paisible église en bois. L’hôtel Juvet landskapshotell à Geiranger et « The Tree » à Bergen – avec 51 mètres de hauteur, la plus grande maison de bois au monde — valent aussi la peine d’être signalés.

    Enfin, nous devons donner une mention aux nombreux festivals de la Norvège de l’Ouest. Le festival international de Bergen (musique classique, danse et théâtre), celui de Gladmat à Stavanger (gastronomie) et le festival international du film de Haugesund sont juste trois exemples parmi d’autres.
