La route panoramique Atlanterhavsvegen s'étend sur 36 kilomètres au total. Le tronçon le plus célèbre, la route de l'Atlantique, relie Averøy au continent via sept ponts qui traversent une série de petites îles.
Cette route apparaît dans plusieurs productions cinématographiques et télévisuelles internationales, notamment le film de James Bond Mourir peut attendre et la série à succès Succession de HBO.
La route se trouve à 8h de route d'Oslo, à 9h de Bergen, à 3h40 de Trondheim et à 2h40 d'Ålesund. Vous pouvez également prendre l'avion jusqu'à Kristiansund ou Molde, louer une voiture et commencer votre voyage à partir de là.
Il est également possible de faire le trajet à vélo, mais sachez que la circulation risque d’être dense.

Arrêtez-vous pour une promenade jusqu'au point de vue et au sentier surélevé qui vous emmène autour de l'île d'Eldhusøya, accessible à tous.

De là, vous pourrez faire une promenade de 2,5 kilomètres jusqu'au phare de Nordneset.
La route vous emmène plus loin le long de la baie de Hustadvika, où les forces de la nature sont réputées pour être violentes !

Après 20 minutes de route vers l'ouest, vous arriverez au charmant village de pêcheurs de Bud, qui était autrefois l'un des plus grands comptoirs commerciaux entre Bergen et Trondheim au 16e siècle.
Aujourd'hui, c'est un village de pêcheurs paisible, où vous pourrez déguster de bons fruits de mer au restaurant Bryggjen i Bud, explorer les vestiges des fortifications côtières allemandes de la Seconde Guerre mondiale au fort côtier d'Ergan et visiter le Musée de la côte.

Nous vous recommandons de poursuivre votre route sur 40 kilomètres supplémentaires jusqu'à Molde, la « ville des roses ».
Explorez la charmante promenade du port et les saunas flottants, puis rendez-vous au point de vue de Varden pour admirer une vue panoramique sur les montagnes !
Mais l'attraction principale ici est le musée Romsdal, l'un des plus grands musées folkloriques en plein air de Norvège, et le centre d'accueil Krona, à l'architecture époustouflante, qui abrite des expositions, un café et une boutique de bunad (costume national traditionnel norvégien).
