Stay at the newly renovated timber-built hotel Villa Norangdal, with room décor that reflects various decades of the 20th Century. Villa Norangdal is majestically located in secluded surroundings at Haugen Farm at the entrance to Norway’s wildest and narrowest valley, Norangdalen.
The Hotel which is from 1885, had its golden age during the period 1890-1940, when cruise ship passengers where driven through the valley by horse and carriage in great numbers.
The current owner has invested a great deal of time and money in restoring the building, which in its time played host to many royal heads from far and wide. Several of the first British mountain pioneers who discovered the challenging mountains in the area used the hotel as their base.
Now you once again have the chance to stay at a small hotel, which is most definitely not an average run-of-the-mill tourist hotel, where history whispers in the walls. The hotel is open all year round.
