Join us for a beautiful hike to Trolltunga with spectacular scenery. Great views of mountains, fjords, deep valleys, waterfalls and glaciers.
It`s really magical to experience Trolltunga when everything is covered in snow. The hike to Trolltunga is long (27km from Park 2 and 20 km from Park 3). It’s recommended to use a guide outside the summer season which is defined between the 15th of June and the 15th of September. This is due to uncertainty related to weather, snow, rivers, and less daylight, which again have led to several rescue operations over the years. The weather changes fast at this time of year.
Spring at Trolltunga is a unique experience with few or no tourists in the mountains, crystal clear air, and several meters of snow. We will provide snowshoes and poles if required.
Meeting point:
Meeting point in Skjeggedal (P2) at 08:00. Here you will meet our guide. If conditions allow us, we will be able to drive up to Mågelitoppen (P3), which will save us 4km and 400 vertical meters(!).
How to get to Odda and the meeting point in Skjeggedal:
If you are coming from Bergen, you need to travel the day before to Odda and stay overnight in Odda or nearby. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Bergen to Odda. From Odda to Skjeggedal it takes about 20 minutes to drive and the parking in Park2 is NOK 500. If you have the Bergen Card, you can travel for free with the bus (operated by Skyss) from Bergen to Odda. From Odda to Skjeggedal there is no shuttle bus in winter, but you can take a taxi (approx. NOK 600).
INCLUDED IN THE PRICE:
Snowshoes and hiking poles is included. The guide will serve a delicious lunch, hot drinks and local snacks. See the packing list below of what you need to bring for the hike. We will have breaks along the way, and our guides will show you some spectacular hidden gems.
