Be thrown back to the late 19th century in the middle of Valldal! Here you get the charm of an over 100-year-old hotel with an exciting history and atmosphere, but with modern comfort and good local ingredients on the menu.

Right in the center of Valldal you will find Sylte Hotell. In one of Valldal's oldest hotels, high-ranking English salmon lords came and stayed here when they came to Valldal to fish in the river Valldøla, which meanders beautifully through the valley floor. Royals came here to have lunch when they opened the Trollstigen to traffic and when setting up Martin Linge's memorial support.

With its rich and exciting history, the hotel has been given a new lease of life after having fallen into disrepair for many years. Today you can enjoy Sylte Hotell with an atmosphere that takes you back 100 years in time, but with full modern comfort and with lovely local ingredients in both our breakfast buffet, dinners and drinks menu.

In our cosy living room there is always a fire in the fireplace and invites you to sit back with, for example, a good book and something to drink. If you are interested in the hotel's history, you can also get a short story told by our staff.
