Stiklestad - Accommodation for pilegrims

The pilgrimage site Stiklestad is both an important stopover on the St.Olavsleden and a good starting point for hiking the 134 km towards Nidaros Cathedral and Trondheim. The saint king Olav Haraldsson fell here in the battle of 29 July 1030 and was sanctified the following year. As a consequence of this incident, there was a significant pilgrim traffic in the Middle Ages, primarily to his burial place in Nidaros / Trondheim, but also to his place of death at Stiklestad.

HISTORISC ACCOMMODATION
Stiklestad Cultural Centre has a medieval farm called Stiklastadir and pilgrims have a unique opportunity to stay in a historic setting in the Longhouse or the Guest loft.

The Long House at Stiklastadir
The Long House has a living area where there is an opportunity for groups of 10+ people to spend the night in a Viking way. It is not possible to cook your own food here. There are toilet and shower facilities in the basement of the building. A sleeping bag must be brought as the house does not have its own bedding.

The Guest Loft at Stiklastadir
The guest loft is a copy of a medieval building from the 13th century, which was a storeroom and accommodation for guests. The beds are a reconstruction from the Middle Ages and are shorter than today's standard. Multiple beds in the same room. There are toilet and shower facilities, and there is a small kitchenette for dry food. A sleeping bag must be brought as the house does not have its own bedding.

SCANDIC STIKLESTAD
Accommodation in multibed rooms (up to 4 pers): NOK pr. bed incl. breafkfast
Single rooms: NOK 950 incl. breafkfast
Double rooms: NOK 1250 incl. breafkfast

PILGRIM PASS
We sell pilgrim passes for NOK 50. Pilgrim passes must be presented at check-in, and are a prerequisite for getting pilgrimage prices on accommodation.

PILGRIMMAGE FOOD
Scandic Stiklestad has a restaurant with a large brasserie menu and today's dinner. Fully licensed. It is possible to buy packed lunch package for NOK 85, -.

All pilgrims are welcome to Stiklestad whether on foot, bicycle, horse or car / bus. Transport of luggage: NOK 50 per person per stage (minimum price NOK 200). Must be booked within 3 days of arrival.
