From sea to summit
The combination of sailing and ski touring gives us access to parts of Lofoten that can be difficult to reach from land. After breakfast on board, we head ashore and put on our skis close to the water’s edge.
Where we ski depends on the snow, weather, wind and the level of the group. Our ski guide and skipper work together to find good options for each day, and the plans can change as the conditions change.
After a day in the mountains, we return to the boat for dinner, time together and a well-earned rest before doing it all again the next day.
Experienced skippers and ski guides
All Ski & Sail trips have an experienced skipper and ski guide on board. The guide plans the ski tours according to the conditions and the group, while the skipper takes care of the sailing and helps us reach the right starting point for the next adventure.
SeilNorge has been arranging Ski & Sail trips along the Norwegian coast for more than ten years, including trips in Lofoten, Lyngen, Finnmark and Svalbard.
Who is Ski & Sail for?
You need previous ski touring experience to join a Ski & Sail trip and must bring your own ski and avalanche equipment.
The trips are arranged for different experience levels. Some departures are better suited to experienced ski tourers looking for longer or more demanding days, while others have a slightly easier pace. On open departures, the guide chooses routes that work for the group and the conditions.
For those who want to experience Lofoten in winter, Ski & Sail combines days in the mountains with life at sea – sailing from fjord to fjord in search of the best skiing.
