Mjøstråkk is a 250-kilometre long cycling route around Lake Mjøsa - Norway's largest inland lake. At the route you will pass the towns Hamar, Lillehammer and Gjøvik, Brumunddal and Moelv and the villages Eidsvoll, Stange and Lena. When exploring Lake Mjøsa and its surroundings on bike, you will see the beautiful lake, rolling farmland and lush green hills, at close range. The cycling route is well-signposted and the roads are a combination of gravel and asphalt. There are a number of attractions and sights around Lake Mjøsa and these are marked and described on a map available at the tourist offices.
Until summer of 2016, the route between Minnesund and Tangen at the east side of Lake Mjøsa will be closed, due to road work. An alternative route is available. You can also combine the trip with DS Skibladner, the cycle boat "Besta" or the train.
Mjøstråkk cycling map can be purchased at Hamar Region Tourist Office. Price NOK 100.
