Kjerringøy Old Coastal Trading Post
The trading centre at Kjerringøy, north of Bodø, is located idyllic and stands forth as one of Norway’s most important building memorials from the 18-th century. It contains 15 antiquated buildings in a unique setting.
This is a "must see place" when visiting Bodø. Here you gain a fantastic insight in north-Norwegian coastal culture, and you can see how everyday life was for both the upper class and the servants on a north-Norwegian trading centre in the end of the 1800-th century.
In "Nyfjøsen" in the old trading centre you find a café, museum-kiosk and tourist information. Here you can see the beautiful pictureplay “Anna Elisabeth of Kjerringøy”. We are recommending everyone who visits Kjerringøy, to pay the old trading centre a visit.
Kjerringøy is located just north of Bodø. To get here you need to take a ferry between Festvåg and Misten.
