Hiking to Mount Saksa with Uteguiden

This is one of Uteguidens absolute favourite mountains in the Sunnmøre Alps and around Hjørundfjorden for to several reasons. One of them is for sure the view from the top. You will see all the way in to the end of the Hjørundfjord in one direction and out towards Ålesund on the coast in the other. Saksa is one of the peaks in the area with the best fjord panorama view for sure. 

The hike starts in the small village Urke on the shores of the Hjørundfjord, and continues through the village up the mountain side towardsthe summit. The view gets better, and better by every step. The last part up to the peak has been improved by local people and sherpas from Nepal who have built stone stairs to make it safer and easier to reach the top.
