Haralds Vaffel

The story of Haralds Vaffel waffle shop started back in the summer of 2013, when Jonathan Larsson from Sweden got the idea of selling waffles from the window of his bedroom in Oslo's old town. Larsson truly loved waffles, and he wanted to spread the love to his fellow Osloites. The word got around, and every Saturday and Sunday, Harald would serve delicious waffles to hungry people who came from all over town.

After a few hurdles, Harald was able to turn his new hobby into a full-time job in 2017, when he opened up a real Haralds Vaffel shop at Grünerløkka. Six months later, Larsson moved his shop to Torggata, and in 2019 back to Grünerløkka.

​​​​​Larsson wants the Norwegian waffle’s greatness to be recognized internationally, even rivalling the famed Belgian waffle. His creative menu includes waffle with blue cheese, waffle with sausage, waffle with coconut, the “Favaffel” (inspired by the falafel), and several vegan and gluten free waffles.
