Guided Backcountry Ski Tours with Beitostølen Aktiv & Skiskole

Throughout the winter we arrange guided ski tours and splitboard tours. Learn the basics of backcountry ski touring/ randonee with one of our professional guides, including avalanche awareness, safety in the backcountry and off-piste ski technique. If you are a group of people wanting to take a tour, please just contact us directly.

This is a great day activity for those who are new to off-piste skiing. Your guide will give you an introduction to avalanche safety awareness, the use of safety equipment, route planning, and much more. The day starts with an equipment check and theory and practical use of safety equipment. You will then head out on a top tour trip with your guide, where along the way you will learn about route planning, snow pack stability and safe group management in the mountains. No previous off-piste skiing experience is required, however we do require participants to be a good intermediate or higher level alpine skier, able to ski red runs in controlled parallel turns.

You must bring with you: 
Backcountry touring equiptment/randonee - skis, poles, skins and boots. (These can be rented from Beitostølen Ski Rental)
Avalanche safety equipment (you can rent this from us for kr. 350,-)
