Grini prison camp was the biggest camp for political prisoners in Norway during World War 2, and nearly 20.000 women and men were held captive there for shorter or longer periods. The Grini Museum opened in 1996, in the former commandant house. The museum depicts the conditions the prisoners endured via drawings, photographs, objects, a collection of books and a model of the barracks. In 2010 one of the old barracks was moved back to the area to become a part of the museum. Tours on Sundays.
