Explore Longyearbyen's surroundings together with your Arctic nature guide. Understand the synthesis of cultural history and elements of the raw and extreme landscapes of Svalbard. Let's call it the gift of the polar night as we drive away from the city and leave the artificial light behind. The views become visible in the dark and from here on you will discover historical tracks in Advent valley, see landmarks witnessing about modern research and observe nature phenomena.
Dress warmly for hours outdoors and be ready to meet the guide in your hotel reception at the starting point of the excursion. We set direction towards Adventdalen where you will experience the polar night embrace you. Our transport is by car, and our last stop on the route is our Trapper’s Station. This basecamp is a replica of old trapper’s stations in Svalbard, and it also houses our 90 Alaskan huskies.
We gather by the bonfire or fireplace for storytelling and a warm cup of coffee to warm up our frozen fingers. Before heading back to Longyearbyen, you are welcome to visit the huskies for some hugs and snuggles, their absolute favourite happening of the day.
