Fretheim Hotel has a green guideline when it comes to taking care of nature, culture and the environment. The food we serve, is mainly coming from farms nearby.
Local food has always been served at the hotel, and that is natural when we have some of the best producers within the cheese, meat, fruits and vegetables right outside our door. The animals we serve has been raised in the mountainside around Flåm. The average weight of these animals are higher than other places in the country. This is because the grass and herbs that grows in the fjord area are much more nourishing than other places. The pigs, lambs, deer and reindeer are all marinated with herbs from the inside! The food are processed in both traditional and an innovation way in the Fretheim kitchen.
The restaurant in the hotel, have a view looking straight towards the fjord. Good food and warm atmosphere makes the guests relax and they can sit for hours and just enjoy with all the senses! Open all year.
