Easy access with chairlift to the mountains

Chairlift to the summit of the Storenos mountain.

With the chairlift, you can quickly reach the top without much effort. From the top of Storenos, which is located at an elevation of 1183 meters, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the mountain landscape. On a clear day, you can even see all the way to Hardangervidda. This mountain plateau is a great starting point for hiking in the summer/autumn and skiing in the winter.

Hiking in the summer/autumn: From the top, there is a marked trail that leads north to a viewpoint located 200 meters from the chairlift drop-off. The trail is marked with blue signs. From the viewpoint, you can choose to continue on the blue-marked trail towards Støysskarnuten and then follow the red-marked trail on a dirt road down to Hovden or to the Sloaros tourist cabin. You can also follow a short blue-marked trail from the viewpoint down to Hovden, or take the gravel road that goes directly down between the ski slopes under the lift.

There are two cycling trails in the area, and bikes can be transported up with the lift.

In the summer, the lift is open daily during the high season.

From August 21 to September 29, the lift is open Saturdays 11:00-15:00. During the autumn holiday (September 30 to October 15), the lift is open daily 11:00-15:00.

Tickets for the summer lift can be purchased at Sport1 at Hovden Alpine Center.

In case of strong winds or forecasted thunderstorms, the lift will be closed.

Skiing in the winter:

At the top of the ski slope, there are two cross-country ski trails: "Lisle Storenut," which is a 7.5 km circular trail, and "Krossloskaret," which is a loop on the mountain plateau before descending to Hovden. This trail is a total of 12 km long.

During the winter, it is not possible to take the lift back down, so skiing is the only option to descend from the mountain.

It is possible to bring a sled with you on the lift. On Saturdays and during holidays, the sled must be handed in at the lift entrance by 11:00 am.

Tickets are purchased at the ticket office, and a key card is required to load the ticket. If you don't have a key card, you can purchase one together with the ticket. Prices can be found on the website hovdenalpinsenter.no.

Evening Opening:

On certain days of the week, the center is open until 9:00 pm. During this time, only the T-bar lift operates, and there is floodlighting in this part of the facility. Night skiing is not included in the day pass and must be purchased separately.
