Øynaheia is known as the main ski destination for the entire Arendal region – a true winter paradise with well-prepared trails for both classic and skate skiing.
At 300 metres above sea level, the area offers reliable snow conditions throughout the winter. The trail network winds through varied and beautiful forest terrain, with several circular routes of different lengths and difficulty levels. Between Øynaheia and Toplandsheia runs a long connecting trail, with three shortcuts that allow you to adjust the length of your trip. From Øynaheia, the loop options are 2.2 km, 7.0 km, 14.6 km and 16.5 km.
At the parking area in Øynaheia you’ll find Øynastua, a cozy warming hut that’s open on weekends during the ski season.
Want to check current snow and trail conditions? Visit skisporet.no or Herefoss IL for up-to-date information.
How to get there: Drive along County Road 42 to Mjåvatn, then continue about 6 km to Øynaheia. There is good parking available – please park close so everyone gets a space.
