Bukkaknuten
Veraland is a large nature area with marshes, pine forests and open and bare heathland. The area is also rich in terms of bird and wildlife. You can find both deer and elk grazing here. Several long and short hiking opportunities with many nice viewing points.
Follow marked hiking trail to Krosstjørna. There are several hikes possible here in the area, for Bukkaknuten simply follow the signs. From here, it ascends towards a stunning view in all directions. The hike continues ascending until you arrive at Svedalen (valley) where it starts descending. Choose to hike back from here or continue for a longer hike up to Dyrafjellet mountain and from there to Husafjellet mountain. Another option is to hike to Nonsknuten and around Krosstjørna pond and return to the parking at Veraland. Several wonderful viewing points along the hike. It is also possible to start the hike from Ims from the parking nearby lake Tengesdalsvannet.
