Aunfjellet Aurora Camp

Come visit our aurora camp where our goal is to see the northern lights – aurora borealis. The camp is located on the mountain Aun, about a 20 minute drive from Harstad.

As you arrive we will create an arctic atmosphere by serving you our unique Aurora cocktail, a green drink resembling the aurora, in glasses made of pure ice - with or without alcohol.

The camp is located in a place where there is no artificial light from buildings or other infrastructure. It is on the mountain, but only 30 meters from a road with little traffic. That means we can drive all the way to the camp. If the sky is cloudy or there are no signs of the northern lights you will still have a magical experience.

Our guide will tell stories by the campfire in the lavvu. Here you will also be served a warm drink (coffee, hot chocolate or tea) and waffles with the traditional brown cheese or jam. Outside the lavvo you can practice lassoing our reindeer made of wood, and you will get some helpful advice on how to capture the northern lights using your camera.

If the northern lights doesn’t appear in the sky you will still see it.‍

We have a unique cinema screen made of snow at our camp. Here you will see the aurora in our exclusive movie starring the northern lights.

All our guests that see the northern lights in the sky will be given an aurora certificate with a photo of the visit to our camp.

What to bring yourself: Warm clothes (at least 2 layers), good warm shoes, gloves and hat. We could provide you with clothes as an option.
