Overview

SamiCamp offer you a Northern Light chase- the Samiway. Including a hot meal in a Lavvo and storytelling about the Sami and the Northern Light , Yoiking and drumming. Then chasing the Northern Light . Return after 6-8 Hours.

Learn how to get a good photo of the "Dancing Lady" by our photographer, enjoy a hot meal served in our lavvo by the Sea and a "joik" to please the divine powers of the light.

Join us for the a Northern Lights chase experience in Tromsø. With our eco-friendly philosophy, delicious local food, knowledgeable guides and driver, we will take you on an Arctic journey that you will never forget. This trip also included visit to the Logje Sami Family. Learn how the sami traditionally interpretated the constellations on the night sky and stories about Guovssahasa /Northern Light.

Your Northern Light host will pick you up at Radisson Blu Hotel main entrance. The experience starts with visiting the Logje Sami family in their SamiCamp on Kvaløya, a 20 minutes drive from Tromsø. Storytelling about the Northern light and the sami people who have lived her in the arctic for generations will follow. The storytelling will take place in a real sami lavvo. You will also be served the traditional sami dinner, "Bidos".

Our guide will provide you with a brief, technical information, and some necessary knowledge about photographing the auroras.
Once your hosts have found a scenic spot, you will take off from the sami basecamp and hunt for the Northern Lights.

We search the polar sky for the Northern Lights and capture them in photos, and we offer photography tips.
If the dancing lady does not appear, or the weather conditions change, we may need to move on and continue the chase!

Included: pick-up and drop-off at Radisson Blu Hotel, transport in minibus with Englishspeaking driver and guide, sami storytelling and joik by the campfire in our varm Lavvo,
knowledge about the Aurora Borealis, hot beverages, a tasty Sami Bidos meal with local ingredients, coffee/arctic tea and snack.

Please bring: warm clothes, hat, gloves, warm boots, camera and tripod.
Last minute tips: Make sure you have enough free space on your cameras memory card(s),
and that the batteries are fully charged.
