At the Museumsbrygga in Sandefjord is the Southern Actor, the only remaining, fully operational whaling boat from the industrial whaling industry.

"Southern Actor" was built i 1950 for Sevilla Whaling Co. Ltd which was managed by Chr. Salvesen & Co., Scotland. The funnel still carries Salvesens colours. The whale catcher was brought to Sandefjord in 1989 and has undergone extensive restoration with former whalers having made an active contribution. It is fully operative with its original steam engine intact. Southern Actor is the only whale catcher from the Modern Whaling Epoch still found in original working order.
