Northern Lights Tour with Sámi & local storytelling

This tour is conducted by Arctic Aurora Tours.

We keep your group small (maximum 16 guests) to ensure personal attention, space to relax, and help with your camera when the aurora appears.

Along the way, gain insight into the traditional Sami nomadic way of life, and hear local stories about the coastal communities here in Arctic Norway., learn how to capture the perfect photo, and take home memories and images to treasure. And if the lights don’t appear, you’ll be invited back on another night at a reduced rate — because everyone deserves their moment under Norway’s Arctic sky.

Instead of stopping at crowded viewpoints, we usually head to a private campsite in beautiful Grøtfjord, far from city lights. Wander freely, enjoy organic hot chocolate or herbal tea by the fire, and taste traditional snacks and a hearty meal made from local ingredients. Of course our main priority is for you to experience the northern lights, so if the weather is bad in Grøtfjord we will go chasing the lights elsewhere!

Please bring: Make sure to bring a warm hat, mittens, thermal underwear, thick socks, warm winter boots, and of course – your camera to capture the magic of the Northern Lights.
