Giske is one of the most important stations in Europe to ring waders. The shoreline area Makkevika comprises areas of pebbles, wetlands and sand.
Giske is one of the most important stations in Europe to ring waders. The shoreline area Makkevika, of approx. 72 acres, comprises areas of pebbles, wetlands and sand. This is a reservation for waders on their way south/northbound during the autumn and spring, and you can also observe seals playing in the water.
