The exhibitions in Fillan



Here you can experience the exciting story of the Russian shipwreck, a mythical shipwreck, and join a time travel back to 1920, which gives you an insight into daily life on the coastal farm in Flatvika. The exhibitions are also suitable for children. We hand out an activity booklet, where the children can color, solve puzzles and go in search of the hidden sailors.



The fish reception



Let the children unfold in our popular play corner at the Coastal Museum - Fiskemottaket. Here you will find costumes, a slide, a crane, fish boxes and a toy board.



Museum shop



Are you looking for a special gift, preferably with local roots or the Hitra logo? You will find quality products and a rich selection of local literature in our museum shops in Fillan and Sandstad. We also sell souvenirs.



Rental of meeting rooms



The Coastal Museum can offer state-of-the-art premises for courses and conferences, lectures and other cultural experiences. The dairy hall has 73 seats and here you get seating comfort, sound and picture in the highest quality. The Melkrampen meeting room is suitable for meetings with up to 12 people and is equipped with a 70" flat screen, video conferencing equipment and laptop. We also offer what you needtowish for in terms of refreshments.



Aquaculture exhibitions



In Hitra express boat terminal you will find the Coastal Museum's aquaculture department. Here you can visit the exhibitions "The Pioneers" and "Rings in the Water", which are about the aquaculture industry in the past, present and future.



Guided tours of aquaculture



Join a tour of various facilities for the aquaculture industry and get a comprehensive insight and balanced knowledge of one of Norway's largest industries. We offer tours of fish farms, hatcheries and salmon slaughterhouses.



Ventemerda



In our premises of the Coastal Museum's aquaculture department you will find the play nook "Ventemerda". Here you can learn more about the salmon through sound, smell and activity. In the middle of the play corner you will find a cage full of balls and pillow salmon. A perfect place for active children who want to explore and learn.
