Along the rugged coastline of Jæren, where the North Sea meets long sandy beaches and a strong surf culture, you are invited to join an experience that combines nature, learning, and meaningful action.
At Borestranda, you can take part in a beach clean-up and discover how ocean plastic is transformed into new resources at the ocean plastic workshop at Boretunet.
More than just an activity, this is an opportunity to give something back to the place you are visiting. Together, we help remove plastic and marine waste washed ashore along the coastline while learning more about the impact plastic pollution has on the ocean, wildlife, and coastal communities.
After the clean-up, you are invited into Havplastfabrikken, our ocean plastic workshop, where collected plastic is sorted, cleaned, shredded, and transformed into new products. Here, you can follow the journey from waste to resource — and even take part in creating something new from materials collected directly from the beach.
This experience offers a close connection to the raw and beautiful nature of Jæren while highlighting regenerative tourism and sustainable travel. The goal is not only to leave fewer traces behind, but to help leave the destination a little better than before you arrived.
The activity is suitable for families, groups, and travellers looking for meaningful experiences close to nature. You may even return home with a small souvenir made from recycled ocean plastic — and a deeper understanding of how small actions can create positive change.
