Great area for family hikes, running and bicycling
The 858-metre Otrosåsen is easily accessible from central Hovden, and is part of the cross-country arena. Enjoy the view of Hovden and the surrounding mountains to the east and west.
This is a great family hike, also suitable for young children. The path is mainly flat on gravel road to the lake Røyrtjønn, then uphill to the top. The hike is also possible with bike or pram. Brakes on pram are recommended, as there are two steep slopes.
At the viewpoint, there is a mailbox with a guest book. The round trip takes 1 - 2 hours.
In the nearby area called Røyrvikåsen, there is a roller ski track. If you take a walk there, we advise you to follow the track counterclockwise for safety reasons
