Hiking suggestion: Kårvatn to Innerdalen via Bjøråskaret
One route worth highlighting is the hike hike between Kårvatn and Innerdalen through Bjøråskaret. It is often described as Norway’s most beautiful hike and offers spectacular nature, rich wildlife and many cultural traces of how earlier generations lived. Kårvatn is also known for having some of the cleanest air in Europe.
There is no reason to end your trip when you reach Innerdalen. Here you can stay at Innerdalshytta or Renndølssetra, enjoy traditional summer-farm food, climb Innerdalstårnetor continue on foot to the Sunndalsfjella mountains. Beautiful mountain lakes offer fishing, paddling and swimming, and the atmosphere in Innerdalen makes you want to stay and simply enjoy life.
The Sunndalsfjella mountains offer high-mountain experiences. If you would rather continue towards the coast, you can cross Surnadalen and carry on along Fjordruta. The route can take you all the way to Kristiansund and Kristiansund Airport Kvernberget if you wish.
